THE GAME

Managing an evil empire is hard work - particularly since damned adventurers keep coming along and breaking things! Can you manage the administrative hell that is this company, and balance the books and your sanity? Or will you forever be remembered amongst the lost souls crying behind their desks?

And hey, if it's too much, you can always just doodle on your desk instead.

CONTROLS

The controls:

  • Left click the stamp / pen to pick it up
  • Left click whilst holding something to draw with it
  • Right click to drop something
  • Left click and drag to move the papers around
  • Move the papers into the outbox to send them off

MY THOUGHTS

I kind of like how this game turned out; it's a pretty interesting concept and it looks and feels alright to use, generally. Despite that, I would've liked to give it more story, more characters, more flavour and feeling in general, since right now it's a bit empty and there's not much reason to continue on playing after a few minutes. I suppose since it's a jam game that's expected, but it would've been pretty easy to just add some characters or something. It'd make the game more personal. I do, however, like how the game controls and feels to play, since I wasn't sure how managing papers and stamping things would turn out at the beginning of development - I did waste a lot of testing time by doodling things on the table! Overall, I'd say I had fun making this - and I hope you have fun playing it too!

add a mode without timer

Could you make a downloadable version? I'd like to be able to play this offline because my internet often goes out

(+2)

I did not do well managing my lovely dungeon, mainly cuz I thought that each document was just the same one from before. Don't make my mistake! Be a better boss than me! Had a good chunk of fun though!

whats the point of the game?

its boring

i dont like it.

(+3)

I played this game for SO long. Great job!

(+2)

this was awesomeness!! I would love to see this expanded!!  You have something fun and intriguing here

Forget This Princess!! | The Final Boss

Thank you so much! I'm very glad that you liked it, and I loved the video too - thanks for playing!

this is a really fun concept! i hope to see you polish it some more

(+1)

This is great!

(+1)

Great game ! Like the concept and papers please vibe. It feels good to be the boss :-)

This game has potential i think, will looking for further updates. Bravo !

While I like the game, I definitely had a tendency to accidentally drop unsigned papers into the outbox. The inbox also didn't always pull up the top paper. I would've preferred if the game was just pressing buttons to sign or stamp, but I see the appeal in the more open approach.

(+3)

half of the papers don't go in the outbox

(+5)

a good concept, but it can be hard to tell what exactly certain papers do. For example, not paying taxes doesn't seem to have any in-game disadvantages. It would be helpful if there was some sort of indication as to how the different stats are affected (like if it said "princess+" and "money-" when buying something for the princess)

I don't think I can play this game on Chromebook. It's not letting me drop things.

(1 edit) (+2)

Right click by using two fingers to drop a tool.  It took me while to figure out too.

(+1)

Oh that helped! Thank you

(+1)

Of course

Well, I'm also playing on chrome it's really hard to put signed papers in the outbox.

(+1)

there is a problem with the outbox. it does not accept the taxes. ;/

you have you click it twice sometimes

(+1)

I'M WORKIN' 9-5!

Haha, thanks for the video, it was a great watch! And I loved the commentary too - truly fitting of a final boss!

(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! I certainly had fun. ;{D

(+2)

Great and funny little game, I liked it a lot. Now we know what Bowser is doing all day :)
It was btw new to me that the princess could just leave if her kidnappers do not provide her with enough entertainment.

This is one of those funny little gems one remembers, thanks for creating it.

My only suggestion would be to create more papers to sign since they kept repeating rather quickly

More variety definitely would've been great, I definitely agree - I should probably eventually get round to adding that now that the game jam's been over for a few months. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest though, thanks for the comment!

(+1)

I would like it more if I could monitor the hero's progress.

(+3)

Help, I covered up the controls!

(+1)

Oh no!

(1 edit) (+2)

I think group of paladins will break into castle (and break my spine) even if i have imposible high defence

(+1)

I love the art and the gameplay, but there are some bugs with the signing

(+2)

I CANT PUT THE PAPERS IN THE OUTBOXXXX

double click the outbox.

(1 edit) (+2)

I do think the game is fun, however, there is a bug that sometimes when you sign or stamp a paper, it stamps the one below the one showing, so then you accidently sign/stamp something with the opposite of what you might sign/stamp it with. otherwise, fun game, very "yes your grace" and "reign" vibes. edit: i didn't think to drag the paper to the middle because the instructions were still there, that would definitely prevent missigning/stamping something

(+2)

the game was way too overwhelming with useless things that dont help the current problem. otherwise, quite fun

(+3)

And here i thought that fighting the adventurers would be the stressful part of the job. Who knew there was so much paper work involved in running an evil empire

(+1)

Atleast I was a pro-consumer evil empire...

(+1)

Really fun game! Had a great time bending to every beck and whim for the princess!Even if a group of paladins raided us, or my own henchmen threw me out. Anything for the princess!

Hope you enjoy the video

(+4)

the only problem i have with the game is that it's nearly impossible to get defense above a yellow

(+3)

Try a more legible font with better contrast if you're going to apply a time limit!

(+3)

if it won´t go in the outbox then just click it again. it worked for me

(+1)

It wont let me pick up the paper after i've signed it since my pen won't go down/can't let go of it.

(+1)

Bruh just right click

(+1)

I tried, still doesn't work though..

(+4)

This is really fun! Although it is buggy, sometimes things I signed or stamped wouldn't go in the outbox.

(+1)

Same man

(1 edit) (+1)

tap it after you put it in the box cus sometimes, it doesn't get the paper

(+1)
it's so cool and fun, but the "outbox" button is lagged sometimes.
(+3)(-1)

Game gets 5 stars because you can draw loss memes on the table.

(+1)

Game is bugged I believe. I can't use the outbox on day 5. Also, I wish that this could be downloaded instead since my net is a bit unstable.

(+1)

jeez i got  fired at day 5

(+5)

Fun little game, i think showing happiness and defence levels next to money would make it easier to tell what impact your decisions have, loads of ways this game can be built upon

(1 edit) (+1)

really great, though there is a bit of bug fixing needed, its amazing so far!

(+1)

I love this but it's so buggy. I can't get to day 3 because it keeps crashing, and the outbox is very unresponsiv

I just realized a part of this is due to clicking off the in screen box makes the game auto pause, and although the outbox is badly programmed, there IS a tiny hitbox which is responsive and consistent. I take it back, even though it needs a bit of polish stil

(+3)

fun but i think the defense system is bugged i bought like 4 lava castles didnt rent out a castle and it was red but still fu

(+1)

its really neat and fun Idea. Hopefully more will be added in the future!

Thank you!
